Decision makers and the general public show an increasing interest in understanding the criterion for conserving and protecting endangered habitats under the EU habitats directive. Often a well structured visualization may be more convincing than a thick report explaining the same facts. The distribution and abundance of rare plant and animal communities influence the spatial arrangement of endangered habitats across landscapes.
